California is, and will continue to be, on fire. Many people and many non-human beings have lost their homes, lives, and habitats, even as new beings, shapes, and relationships emerge in the scarred land. How to prepare for fire? How to recover from fire? How to learn from, and with, Indigenous fire prevention and land stewardship practices? How to care for each other before, during, and after fire? These and other questions rely on collective awareness and response to counter the isolation caused by fear, loss, and confusion as the climate crisis deepens.
We are programming walks, lung support tea services, film screenings, discussions, and workshops related to fire prevention, preparedness, ecology, and recovery, as well as mutual aid and caretaking.
